About TALLY HO

TALLY HO is capable of going anywhere. These 43' Nautical models rarely come up for sale because the owners love them. This Sparkman & Stephens designed ketch was built for the cruising sailor who desires good performance and yet built to the very high, heavy standards of Silital Yachts in Finland. You can steer from outside to get some sun or go inside to enjoy the pilothouse steering station on those cold watches. The inside steering station is perfect for year around cruising.

The interior of TALLY HO is open and spacious with 6' 8" head room and natural light provided from large windows. Three staterooms and two heads make it a perfect family boat or live aboard. The owner's stateroom aft features a queen size berth and head with shower in the passageway down from the salon. Across from this head compartment is a small cabin with over/under single bunks. Her raised main salon is surrounded by large tempered glass windows that allow generous light and 270 degrees of unfettered visibility. She has a comfy table in here with wrap around seating opposite her interior steering station. Stepping down and forward, she has a large u-shaped galley with sinks, 3-burner stove/w oven, a top loading reefer and a built in top loading refrigerator with freezer. On the starboard side, she has an adjacent comfortable dinette that seats six for dinner. Going forward, there is a second head compartment on the port side opposite a tall hanging locker, then through the bulkhead to the generous v-berth. There are many opening portlights and overhead hatches throughout for light and ventilation.

The yacht is configured in such a way that you have separate areas in which to relax and enjoy your time on the water. It is a fantastic cruising layout!

TALLY HO is ketch rigged with an inner forestay. This type of rig breaks up the square footage of the sail area and allows her crew to adjust her canvas to whatever weather conditions she encounters. This is advantageous for short handed crews or couples. Both her headsails are mounted high quality Scheafer furlers. Her Staysail is self tending. A ketch rig is generally considered easier to handle, because the sails are smaller, and because it can sail on most points to the wind with one sail completely taken down for repair or while reefing. The sail configuration of a ketch allows for better comfort and stability when sailing downwind or on a broad reach.

The original teak decks on TALLY HO were removed and replaced with a composite FlexiTeak product.
